Housing counseling is one-on-one help from a trained professional who guides people through important housing decisions — like buying a home, budgeting money, avoiding foreclosure, and understanding loans. Counselors work with you to build skills, learn your options, and make smart choices about housing.

For many years, the HomeOwnership Center has offered housing counseling at no cost to homebuyers thanks to federal and local government funding. Funding has changed, but the mission has not.  To continue providing high-quality, personalized counseling to our community, the HomeOwnership Center implemented a modest fee for some services.

How to get started?

Complete the housing counseling intake information – either through our client portal or with a paper application.  Once it is completed, the HomeOwnership Center will contact you regarding scheduling with a housing counselor.
